On September 16th, BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution 2025 Opened in Xiamen, Fujian Province. Under the theme of “Unlocking the Potential of BRICS Cooperation for Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization”, the forum focuses on areas like artificial intelligence, green and low-carbon, digital economy, and industrial innovation, with the aim to build a communication platform for government, industry, academia, and research institutions both domestically and internationally, promote the alignment and coordination of industrial policies among countries, and help business explore cooperation opportunities. Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provincial People’s Congress, and Li Lecheng, Party Secretary and Minister of Industry and Information Technology, delivered the keynote speeches at the opening ceremony. Zhao Long, Vice Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Governor of Fujian Province, also attended.

Geraldo Alckmin, Vice-President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil, the BRICS chairmanship; Alexey Vladimirovich Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Russia Federation; Faisol Riza, Vice Minister of Industry, Republic of Indonesia; Khaled A.F. Nazmy, Ambassador of Arab Republic of Egypt to People’s Republic of China; and Dilma Rousseff, President of New Development Bank, delivered video or on-site speeches at the opening ceremony.

Yang Jie, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of China Mobile Ltd.; Zhou Hongyi, Founder and Chairman of 360 Group; and Lei Jun, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Corporation, delivered keynote speeches at the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, such activities were conducted: unveiling the China Center for BRICS Industrial Competence and releasing its early achievements; awarding the BRICS New Industrial “Golden Egret” Excellence Scholarship certificates; award ceremony of the BRICS Industrial Innovation Competition; and launching ceremony of the Xiamen Node of the BRICS Digital Ecosystem Cooperation Network. Outcomes released during the ceremony included achievements of the China-BRICS Artificial Intelligence Development and Cooperation Center, the announcement of the new participants to the “Initiative for International Cooperation on New Industrialization” and release of its action plan. The signing ceremony of a series of cooperation projects also included.
