China and Brazil to boost relations

China and Brazil agreed to enhance cooperation as their foreign ministers met in the capital Brasilia on Thursday.


China values its friendship with Brazil, visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira.


China, the largest developing country in the Eastern Hemisphere, and Brazil, the largest developing country in the Western Hemisphere, should strengthen their unity and cooperation to deal with global challenges, Wang said.


China supports Brazil in hosting the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro and playing a bigger role in international and regional affairs, and hopes to work with Brazil to build an open, inclusive, clean, and beautiful world that enjoys lasting peace, universal security, and common prosperity, Wang said.


Vieira said Brazil will enhance communication and coordination with China and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and he hopes the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro will boost high-level exchanges between the two countries.
