Official Handover of the Chair Organization of the BRICS Vocational Education Alliance
On April 11th, Liu Limin, President of the China
Association for International Exchange in Education and the first Chairman of
the BRICS Vocational Education Alliance, led a delegation to visit the Ministry
of Higher Education and Training in South Africa under its invitation. He had
in-depth talks with Mr. Samuel Zamokuhle Zungu, Deputy Director General and
current Chairman of the BRICS Vocational Education Alliance, as well as the
education team of the BRICS mechanism in South Africa, and officially completed
the handover of the Chair Organization of the BRICS Vocational Education
Alliance.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the
main activities of the Alliance in 2023, and had in-depth exchanges on further
strengthening exchanges and dialogues in BRICS vocational education, promoting
practical cooperation, conducting teacher-student exchanges, and promoting the
integration of industry and education. At the same time, they reached an
agreement to hold the second BRICS Vocational Education Alliance Presidents’
Forum during the BRICS Education Ministers' Meeting. The forum will be jointly
organized by the Alliance Permanent Secretariat Exchange Association and the
South African Public College Organization.
During this period, President Liu Limin met with
Ms. MDM Phutsisi, the Chairman of the South African Public College
Organization, as well as key members such as the Vice Chairman and Secretary
General of the organization, to conduct in-depth discussions on the prospects
of cooperation in related fields.
Officials of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa
also attended the talks, including Li Xudong, Education Counselor, Wang Yongli,
Secretary General of the Exchange Association, He Pei, Director of the
Vocational Education and Training Department, and Liu Xiaomeng, Deputy Director
of the Administration Office.
