On March 16, the BRICS Economic Research Center of Xiamen University of Technology was unveiled. The center will carry out practical research in the fields of BRICS economic policy, industrial development and economic cooperation. It will cultivate application-oriented talent for enterprises and provide policy consultation for governments and intellectual support for Xiamen BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center.

In the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Alessandro Golombiewski Teixeira, former Minister of Tourism of Brazil, was appointed as the distinguished professor of the School of Economics and Management of Xiamen University of Technology and the Director General of the Center. He delivered an insightful lecture themed “Future Challenge Faced by BRICS” after the ceremony.
