On October 20, the Third Cohort of the BRICS New Industry "Golden Egret" Excellence Scholarship (the "Golden Egret" Scholarship) — the 2026 BPIC Training Program on Intelligent Manufacturing and Innovation-Driven Development (Autumn Session) — kicked off in Xiamen, welcoming 24 participants from 17 countries including Brazil, Russia, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia and Indonesia.

In July 2025, at the 17th BRICS Summit, China announced the establishment of the BRICS New Industry "Golden Egret" Excellence Scholarship, dedicated to helping  BRICS countries cultivate talent in sectors related to industry and telecommunications.

Co-hosted by the BPIC and the International Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), this training program continues the theme of "Intelligent Manufacturing and Innovation-Driven Development".The 16-day exchange and learning program will be held in Xiamen, Changsha, and Chengdu. Through a combination of classroom lectures, seminars and panel discussions, and field visits, the program will share China's practices and experience in promoting digital and intelligent transformation. Participants will visit intelligent manufacturing enterprises such as King Long, Sany Heavy Industry and Tongwei Solar. Beyond demonstrating cutting-edge technologies, the program also emphasizes practical application scenarios and the pathways for industrial transformation and upgrading, enabling  participants to not only "see" the technology, but also "understand" the underlying methodology.

The opening ceremony also featured a presentation of honorary certificates under the "Golden Egret" Scholarship, which were presented to the participants.
