On June 4, the training program under the BRICS New Industry "Golden Egret" Excellence Scholarship (the “Golden Egret” Scholarship) — the 2026 BPIC Training Program on Smart Manufacturing and Innovation-Driven Development (Spring Session) — concluded in Shanghai. Co-hosted by BPIC and the International Economic and Technical Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the program brought together 25 government officials, industry elites and academic experts from 14 BRICS countries and other emerging-market and developing countries.

Lasting 16 days, the training program featured classroom lectures, exchange seminars and on-site visits in Xiamen, Hangzhou and Shanghai. Centered on the core theme of “Smart Manufacturing and Innovation-Driven Development”, it arranged visits for participants to leading new industry enterprises, and shared China’s innovation practices in such fields as the Industrial Internet and artificial intelligence. Participants were invited to key international events including the 2026 BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution and the 2026 BPIC Industrial Project Matchmaking Event. They shared practices and insights on industrial development of their respective countries and promoted multilateral sharing of practical experience. The training program offered referential Chinese solutions for the manufacturing transformation and upgrading of BRICS countries and other emerging markets and developing countries.
