2023 BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest
Recently, the final of the BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest 2023, hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Fujian Provincial People's Government, was held in Xiamen.

II. Organizational Structure
1. Organizers: Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Fujian Provincial Government.
2. Undertaking Units: BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Base, International Economic and Technical Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.
3. Partners: Relevant institutions recommended by authorities from BRICS countries to jointly promote the competition, collect projects, recommend experts, and evaluate projects.
4. Committee Structure: A competition organizing committee and an expert review committee will be established to manage the organization and evaluation of projects, respectively. The organizing committee consists of relevant officials from the organizers and undertaking units, while the expert review committee is composed of authoritative experts from research institutions, universities, and industry organizations in BRICS countries, responsible for finalizing evaluation rules and conducting project assessments.
The organizing committee will have a secretariat responsible for the specific execution of the competition’s activities, located at the International Economic and Technical Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
III. Competition Tracks
The competition is divided into three tracks: Industrial Internet, Intelligent Manufacturing, and Green Circular Economy. It focuses on digitalization, networking, intelligence, and sustainability, gathering innovative driving forces in the new industrial revolution with significant market potential and application effects from BRICS and "BRICS+" countries.
- Track One: Industrial Internet. Focuses on the digital transformation needs of the manufacturing sector, collecting projects that integrate new information technologies like 5G, digital twins, artificial intelligence, and blockchain with the physical industry, as well as industrial internet solutions that enhance production capacity, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure the stability and security of supply chains.
- Track Two: Intelligent Manufacturing. Emphasizes innovation at the intersection of next-generation information technology and advanced manufacturing, collecting intelligent transformation solutions for precision manufacturing and agile production capabilities in sectors like machinery, automotive, light industry, and electronics, along with new manufacturing models based on internet customization, crowd-sourced design, and cloud manufacturing.
- Track Three: Green Circular Economy. Centers on low-carbon, circular, and intensive development, focusing on creating an efficient, clean, low-carbon, and circular green manufacturing system. It will gather innovative projects and solutions for green transformation in manufacturing, green management across product lifecycles, and applications of energy-saving and low-carbon technologies.
IV. Submission Requirements
Entries must be original works that do not infringe on any patents, copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights and must comply with relevant national laws. Entries will be disqualified if these criteria are not met. During the evaluation, participants must submit relevant materials as required by the organizing committee and are responsible for the authenticity, accuracy, and completeness of these materials. Submitted entries and related materials are generally not returnable.
Entries will be judged based on the most recently submitted materials, which may include, but are not limited to, the following types:
1. Innovative Products. Designing and manufacturing innovative software or hardware products, equipment, and systems, or innovatively improving existing product functions.
2. Innovative Applications. Case studies of innovative applications of new technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, industrial internet, and blockchain in various industries and regions.
3. Innovative Perspectives. Research reports and academic papers that provide innovative, divergent, and cutting-edge insights on the latest technology developments in the new industrial revolution.
4. Innovative Standards. Proposals for innovative technical standards in technology research and development and application within the new industrial revolution.
