The 2022 BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Held in Xiamen
On September 7, 2022, the 2022 BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR) was held in Xiamen. The Forum was attended by Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee YIN Li, Governor of the People’s Government of Fujian Province ZHAO Long, Vice Minister of? Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China XIN Guobin, Secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee CUI Yonghui, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Fujian Province KANG Tao, Mayor of Xiamen Municipal Government HUANG Wenhui, Ambassador of Brazil to China Marcos Galv?o, Russian Federation Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexey Gruzdev, Indian Principal Adviser of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Rupa Dutta, and Minister Plenipotentiary of Embassy of the Republic of South Africa to China Mogamat Mahdi Basadien. The Forum was also attended by representatives from other countries, including Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to China Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri and Ambassador of Argentina to China Gustavo Sabino Vaca Narvaja, as well as representatives from international organizations including Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union ZHAO Houlin, Managing Director of Directorate of Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) ZOU Ciyong,? and Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of New Development Bank ZHOU Qiangwu.
With the theme of "Partnership on New Industrial Revolution for Common Sustainable Development", the Forum attracted more than 300 representatives from embassies and consulates in China, international organizations, well-known enterprises and industry associations. The participants had in-depth discussions on industrial digital transformation, industrial and supply chain cooperation, and sustainable development of industries among others. Eight platforms that empowering the development of the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center (BPIC) were launched, including the platforms on industrial and supply chain cooperation, standard verification and application in digital field, as well as capacity building. Other supportive mechanisms such as Xiamen Industrial Innovation Alliance of the BPIC, the BPIC Standards and Intellectual Property Service Center and the BPIC Manufacturing Innovation Industrialization Service Center were inaugurated. Cooperation documents on 29 projects worth of 18.1 billion RMB were also signed during the Forum.
The final of the BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest with 3 tracks of industrial Internet, intelligent manufacturing and green development was held on the margins of the Forum, which attracted a total of 1,330 entries worldwide. In addition, the second meeting of the BPIC Council and the BRICS PartNIR Exhibition were held during the Forum.
