The Office of Xiamen Leading Group for BPIC and Legend Holdings Co-host a Hydrogen Energy Project Matchmaking Conference
On the morning of July 2, the Office of Xiamen Leading Group for BPIC, in conjunction with Legend Holdings, held the Swiss hydrogen energy project matchmaking conference in Xiamen to promote the introduction of the hydrogen energy project led by the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences, with the aim to advance the development of the emerging energy storage industry in Xiamen. Li Jing, Vice President of Legend Holdings, and Andreas Züttel, Academician of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences, attended the meeting. Representatives from more than 20 relevant units and companies, including Xiamen Development and Reform Commission, Xiamen Science and Technology Bureau, the College of Energy of Xiamen University, Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd., Xiamen Jin Yuan Investment Group Co.,Ltd., Xiamen Torch Group, and Yuqun Investment Co. Ltd., attended the meeting. Hong Liang, Deputy Director of the city's BRICS Office, presided over the conference.

Li Jing stated that over the past four years, the international team of Legend Holdings has conducted research in Europe and has accumulated nearly 350 potential investment targets in new energy. Through the introduction of the Swiss stationary hydrogen energy storage project, this conference hopes to align with Xiamen's "4+4+6" industrial layout and to incubate cooperative projects together with the upstream and downstream industries and main participants in Xiamen's new energy industry.
Prof. Andreas Züttel introduced the advantages of his metal hydride hydrogen storage technology in terms of safety, space utilization, and cost-effectiveness. The project has successfully developed large-scale stationary hydrogen energy storage solutions, with broad application prospects in China.
Hong Liang, Deputy Director of the Office of Xiamen Leading Group for BPIC, said that in recent years, Xiamen has fully combined its own resources to promote innovative practices in the development of emerging energy storage, taking emerging energy storage (including hydrogen energy) as one of the five future emerging industries, and has clearly proposed to build a "New Energy Innovation and Entrepreneurship City." The Office of Xiamen Leading Group for BPIC will focus on national strategies and the industrial development needs of Xiamen and integrate resources to support the establishment of innovation consortiums by domestic and international enterprises, thus facilitating the high-quality development of Xiamen's emerging energy storage industry. It will also expand cooperation on new energy industry projects of BRICS and "BRICS+", and cultivate the development of new quality productive forces.

At the conference, some companies expressed their willingness to further the cooperation in hydrogen energy with Prof. Andreas Züttel’s team.
