Successful Completion of the 2024 Cross-Border Payment Business Training Course
Recently, the Online Training Platform Cross-Border Payment Business of 2024 training series for entering the Chinese market concluded successfully. Co-hosted by the Innovation Training Base of Global Development Promotion Center and the Office of Xiamen Leading Group for the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center, and organized by Xiamen National Accounting Institute and the Belt and Road Financial and Economic Capacity Building Platform, the program seeks to promote cooperation and sharing among enterprises worldwide in the realm of cross-border commerce, thereby creating expansive commercial opportunities. Since its launch on June 6, the training course has been met with enthusiastic response, with four engaging and practical sessions attracting 531,000 viewers from 56 countries.
The training focused on “Cross-Border Payment,” featuring several seasoned industry experts who shared their extensive experience and insights into cross-border payment practices.
Session 1:
Chen Yina, Deputy General Manager of the Transaction Banking Department at the Bank of China, Xiamen Branch, gave a keynote speech on "Settlement of Cross-Border Payment in E-Commerce Sales and Cross-Border Payments in ‘Entering China’," covering various settlement methods for overseas sellers on E-commerce platforms and providing solutions to cross-border settlement and payment issues, facilitating smoother market entry into China.

Session 2:
Wang Yao, an experienced cross-border e-commerce blogger in Africa, discussed the cross-border payment sandbox simulation for e-commerce, simulating the entire cross-border payment process on a short video platform. He provided hands-on guidance and analyzed common issues encountered during operations, enhancing participants’ practical skills in cross-border platform payments.

Session 3:
Li Xiping, Associate Professor at Xiamen National Accounting Institute, focused on "Risk Prevention in Cross-Border Payments." The session provided a comprehensive analysis of payment risks in cross-border e-commerce and discussed targeted risk prevention and response strategies.

Session 4:
Jian Wei, Associate Professor at Xiamen National Accounting Institute, gave a keynote speech on "The Current Status and Trends in Digital Currency Development," analyzing the nature of cryptocurrency and introducing the digital RMB cross-border pilot program and small-scale cross-border remittance services in Hong Kong, China. This session helped participants understand the development status and trends of digital currency in China.

The training course was highly regarded, with 102 registered participants and a total of 531,000 online views from countries including Brazil, Russia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.
Participants said that the training deepened their understanding of cross-border payments on online platforms, equipped them with efficient and secure payment handling skills, and provided valuable opportunities to exchange experiences with peers from around the world. They also expressed their intention to apply these new knowledge and skills effectively in their future work.
