Time: 2024-02-05

"BRICS Countries' Position in the Global Energy System and Enhancement of Pricing Discourse" was the focus of the 10th BRICS Policy Lecture, which drew 2,051,000 online viewers on the morning of February 2.

Since oil-producing nations like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Iran joined the BRICS cooperation mechanism, the BRICS countries' effect on the global energy market has attracted significant attention. The director of the BRICS Research Center at the University of International Business and Economics, Lan Qingxin, has been invited to share his unique perspectives and thoughts on this topic.

Lan Qingxin analyzed the important position of BRICS countries in the global energy market through a series of detailed data and provided ideas and suggestions for strengthening energy cooperation among BRICS countries and amplifying the BRICS countries’ voice on global energy pricing.

Lan Qingxin proposed that BRICS countries, as major global energy suppliers and demanders, enhance the right to speak on energy pricing not only to safeguard their own interests but also to improve global energy governance. In the future, BRICS countries should practice the concepts of openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation and join hands to promote change and innovation in energy pricing mechanisms.
