On the afternoon of July 27, the Office of Xiamen Leading Group for BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) jointly held an international symposium on“Enhancing the Resilience of BRICS Cooperation: The Johannesburg Summit and the Future Agenda”, where more than 30 think-tank experts from BRICS countries conducted both online and offline discussions in depth about issues including the cohesion of the BRICS consensus, the promotion of BRICS enlargement and the cooperation of local currency.

The SIIS is a member of the Xiamen BPIC Think Tank Cooperation Alliance, and has undertaken the Think Tank Cooperation Projects issued by the Office of Xiamen Leading Group for BPIC. This symposium is one of the significant results yielded by the cooperation between the two sides. Subsequently, the Office and SIIS will carry out joint research into the“Year of South Africa” for BRICS and other related topics.
